Grace Found Me (Firmino's Story)
Robert Firmino, the famous Brazilian football player, is known for his football skills and big smile on the field. But not many people know the full story of how he became a Christian.
Before becoming a Christian, Robert was already a big football star. He played for big teams like Liverpool FC and was loved by many fans around the world. He had money, fame, and success. But deep inside, something was missing.
Even with all his trophies and wins, Robert sometimes felt empty.
He had grown up in a difficult neighborhood in Brazil, and life wasn’t always easy. Football gave him a way out, but it didn’t fill the hole he felt inside.
Robert’s life started to change when he became close friends with some other Brazilian players who were Christians. One of them was Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s goalkeeper. Alisson and his wife would often talk to Robert about Jesus and faith.
They invited Robert to church, prayed for him, and showed him love and care like true friends. Little by little, Robert became curious about God. He started reading the Bible and asking questions about life, faith, and forgiveness.
In January 2020, Robert made a big decision. During a small church gathering, with his family and football friends around him, Robert Firmino decided to give his life to Jesus.
That day, he got baptized in a swimming pool. His wife Larissa was there too, smiling and crying tears of joy. Videos and photos from the baptism went viral on social media. In the video, you can see Robert crying with happiness, lifting his hands, and thanking God.
He said:
"I give my life to Jesus. My greatest title is Your love, Jesus. That’s what matters most."
Since that day, Robert has continued to share his faith. After matches, he sometimes points to the sky to thank God. On his social media, he often posts Bible verses and talks about how Jesus has changed his life.
His wife Larissa is also a Christian now, and together they share their faith with others. They want people to know that no matter how famous or successful you are, what really matters is knowing God.
Robert Firmino’s story shows us that even people with money, fame, and success still need Jesus. True happiness comes from God, not from trophies or goals.
